For my Life Part 2 project, I'm considering amongst other things, having a trial run of importing and selling stuff.

I'm unsure what yet - I'm thinking consumables; a friend suggested FitBit replacement wrist-straps, as she's on her third already. I could import a couple of thousand from China, and sell them on ebay.

My only concern is that with so many people online now, everyone using ebay, and tons of people sitting at home wondering how to make money, are all the markets flooded?

We hear all the time of people successfully running their own businesses. But the vast majority of startups fail within their first year.

But I've got heaps of storage space in the new house - I could have a corner of the garage for stock. My ebay account has 12yrs of 100% positive feedback on it, so I could just start there and see how it goes. If it looks like it has legs, I could think about branching out into other things and setting up a website.

Any thoughts on this? I need to do a ton of reading and research, but I like the idea. Suggestions for potential products welcome...

Started 'A Series of Unfortunate Events" recently.  It's pretty good but hasn't really gripped me.  I'll give it a few more episodes.

I need to also give 'Stranger Things' another chance, only seen the first episode.

What about you jerks?

What was the highlight of your day?  It doesn't matter how mundane - share.

Mine today was catching a small brown trout in the dam at my place - pic attached.  I've only ever caught rainbow trout in there, so it was a nice surprise.

Do any of you guys run?  I've been thinking about starting again.

Just saw this article too:

I could do with some extra years I guess.  I think I'd prefer to do sprints rather than anything long distance, but I'm not sure if it's as beneficial.

The chocolate is.. on the bottom?  Are we holding biscuits upside down?  Should we eat them the other way up?  I don't what to believe any more.

.. but then again, too few to mention.

What are some regrets you have from your life?

My list:
1. I should have tried harder at school.
2. I should have worked out what I wanted to do earlier.
3. I would have liked to have been nicer to people and less selfish when I was younger.
4. I wish I learned more about my grandparents lives.

At first when I agreed to this podcast, I was like yeah sure, why not. Didn't actually think it would happen. Now I'm about to buy a pro mic... which is pot-committed point. Plus I'd not want to let you all down either.

I've said this a few times but want it on the record - the next four weeks, I'm going to struggle to pull my weight (like Luke taking the stairs) as I have to maintain my focus on my deadline. I'll help out where I can of course.

But once that shit's sorted, I'm excited about having a project to get stuck into... when I think about all the time I spend idly reading total crap which serves no purpose, I love the idea of reading up on Podcasting. Listening to others for inspiration. Coming up with episode ideas. Doing the marketing and SEO. Thinking of interviewable guests etc.

I hope we manage to make a thing of this :x

I think we can take partners/dogs as a given.

- Radiator pants
- Fresh sheets
- Paying for something with exact change
- Returning to your warm and comfy bed after getting up to wee in the middle of the night
- Watching something download really fast
- Squeezing through a door as it's shutting without touching it
- Waking up before your alarm clock and realising you've got lots of sleep time left
- Making someone laugh when they’ve got a really full mouth

What are yours?

So, I thought it might be a good idea to have thread with what we're listening to at the moment.

Also, just in case you guys don't use it, I'd like to recommend Pocket Casts.  There's an android, Apple and web app.  It's $9 for a lifetime licence, but the free version is great too.  Has loads of decent features like being able to resume where you left off on multiple devices, playback speed, trim silence, volume boost etc, loads more.

Anyway here my list:

S-Town - Just finished this one yesterday.  Awesome story about a disgruntled genius living in rural Alabama who contacts the host to investigate a murder that happened in his town.  Lots of twists, really engaging and very well made.

Heavyweight - The host facilitates reunions, difficult conversations, people who hasn't spoken for years etc.  Really interesting stories and discussions around the themes involved.

Note to Self - Great Podcast that looks at the human side of technology.  Really interesting ideas and guests.  May make you want to withdraw and live in a cave.

This American Life - The Podcast that reignited my love for Podcasts since the Ricky Gervais ones finished.  Each week they choose a theme and present a few different stories on that theme.  Probably my absolute favourite Podcast.. sometimes deep, always interesting.

Can anyone recommend anything different?
